I was thinking about the euphoric sensation of insight, and sickness.
You can be desensitized to it. (LSD) Some aspect of insight is typical adaptation dynamics, but it isn’t clear that chemical tolerance is the only limit on insight.

There could be neurological limits, since there are actual neurological limits on how interconnected your brain can be. You don’t want to go schizophrenic or develop epilepsy.

Insight doesn’t have to be unique, and it clearly leaves a mark on your mind. It shapes your mind, and probably in ways that are well-precedented because the context of an insight depends on truth. But the side-effects of insight don’t inherently depend on truth. I want to be mentally unprecedented.

I was sick a few weeks ago. At the onset, in sharp contrast to previous days, I could not chase a single insight. Inflammation impedes insight.
But does it impede familiarity? If you wanted to have a non-insight comprehension of something, studying it only when you are sick could be a real advantage.

There is nothing new under the sun. There is only Truth and falsehoods. The Truth always is and was and is unchanging. Our hubris leads us to think we can rewrite or recreate the Truth in some more suitable or convenient form. This is just creating more falsehoods, of which there are near infinite I’m sure.

If it’s any consolation, there are many different ways to express the Truth, but it will always be rooted to a foundational point of origin.

This is also partly why modern entertainment media sucks so much now, it wants to be “mentally unprecedented” by subverting certain tropes (real or perceived) and we can instinctively tell as an audience what we’re watching is not True at all (women can fight as well as men, black people make up 60% of the US population, men can be women, we can have our cake and eat it too with no consequences, etc. etc.)
