x\*x = x^2  
x^x = x?2

x+x+x = x\*3  
x\*x\*x = x^3  
x^x^x = x?3

x+x+x+x = x\*4  
x\*x\*x\*x = x^4  
x^x^x^x = x?4

Why have we not come up with the next mathematical symbol?
