I hear it in the forests, and see it in my dreams-
The languages of deadmen that we no longer sing.
And when the creatures hear the songs of fair maidens ring-
You can see it in their eyes that memory of who we used to be.
In both wakened and Sleep filled visions they will call to you-
Garbed in White Robes heading back towards that distant center-
Their voices like a prayer that one day you will remember-
That place from which you came, in whose service you are tethered.
As a Child must honor the lives of the Father and the Mother-
And make his will flesh with the womb or seed of another-
As a pinecone must honor the root of the Pine Tree-
And fade into the soil to become what the Spring brings.
In the face of calamity are all branches woven-
To answer the call of life’s ancient summons.
You will die with this testament engraved upon your heart-
And fade into the sediment of the wondrous dark.
But only if you pass on this ancient poetry-
Shall you ever again feel the light within your leaves-
Ever again hear the wind through the trees-
Ever and always taste fresh water in your roots-
For only in righteous progeny resides Eternal Truth.
Cool poem dude!
Sorry chud, but our (((neoliberal))) masters say we must sacrifice out heritage, culture, and future in the name of the economy.
I was watching The Northman, great movie if you haven’t seen it yet. Some errors but overall a great story, and its moral premise might relate to the other post you made on half measures.
It’s also based on the story of Amleth in Danish History, which was the inspiration for Shakespeare’s Hamlet (Funny how few ideas Shakespeare came up with himself.)
