I can't stand the AI hype

Sam Hyde on Bitcoin:

Notice how everyone can’t imagine a future outside of progress – it has to be more digital.

It is becoming very clear that the AI utopia will not be coming, that we will not explore the galaxy, and that there is simply no POINT to anything anymore.

If you watch TikTok for more than three seconds it becomes obvious that the human race and its creativity is exhausted.

Everything is uncreative and soulless now. More gizmos and gadgets will not change that, so do not expect our material conditions to change in any meaningful degree.

But it’s still just AI AI AI AI AI AI constantly, I am tired of hearing about this annoying overblown technology.

We need a cultural reset. A healthier society.

Honestly, I see more anti-AI boneaching, and I get it, it’s annoying seeing it everywhere, but the fact is that there still is creative work being done and there are loads of people actively getting more of an identity out of being an actual artist because AI images exist as a foil to them. I don’t think AI is going to be this gimmick that swamps everything out forever. People are getting vocal about their tiredness of it, and there’s probably going to be a new thing soon enough, like accessible VR or publically-available Neuralink
