Multitasking is foolish. Timeliness is next to godliness.
He uses a phrase that sounded like “African time” to describe the speed that people do things in Africa. The fascinating thing is how similar this term sounds to the racist term in the USA - CPT or “colored people time” which is meant to signify that black people work slowly.
Evidently, from the African perspective, this is due to a preference for multitasking and to devoting time on relationships.
I don’t think it’s multitasking. It’s clearly Zipfian.
Intelligence means one object performing many jobs.
Strength means many objects performing one job.
It is simple to survive in Africa. Warm climate, food grows everywhere. So one does not require many abilities: carpentry, record-keeping, tool-making etc are not required to get by.
So Africans merely economize their abundance:
One result of this is that the blacks become more and more aggressive. They operate from a theory of strength rather than a theory of intelligence: ganging up, stealing, raping, fighting. Crime is as lazy as it gets.
