I’m preparing a speech/presentation aimed at white intentional communities that explores the role of secret societies in current events, history, and even prehistory, using prominent ethno-archaeologist, Dr. Brian Hayden’s work as a guide. The following post is merely the outline of the prez. meant to stimulate discussion and feedback on the main ideas.
TL;DR main ideas:
White Intentional Communities are essentially trying to speedrun the formation of a sovereign state from the seed of a single village/colony.
Any such project requires what basically amounts to a social engineering strategy to form loyalty, solidarity, and total commitment in its members. Sharing the same race and pro-white sentiments are not enough.
Secret Societies have been extremely successful throughout history in state-building, social engineering, cultural and economic development, etc.
It may even be the case, from an anthropological POV, that secret societies were the mechanism by which prehistoric man transcended clan and kinship models of society to form “modern” States and institutionalized religions. Quote from Brian Hayden: ""… [secret societies] likely played pivotal roles in sociopolitical and religious developments in the past. I am convinced that they constitute a sort of “missing link” in the cultural evolution of more complex
societies. " (pg 3)
Also from Hayden, "“The development of secret societies into more complex and more powerful types of organizations is one of the most important possible developments that
this study has raised. It may be the key – the missing link – to understanding
why ritual, astronomy, sacrifice, and religion were so central to early state societies.”
One more, just for the hell of it: ""regional organization was a striking feature of most, if not all, secret societies. As Wedgewood ( 1930 :142) stated: “the secret society cuts across the bounds of family, clan, village, and even district. It serves as a means of bringing together men who otherwise would be opposed or indifferent to each other … it serves as a unifying force and as a means whereby men are brought into social relations with others outside their normal sphere of contact.” Thus, Wedgewood viewed secret societies as an important stimulus to “cultural development.” Moreover, secret societies exhibited more power and cohesion than kinship groups or tribes, according to Webster ( 1932 :106). " (pg 361)
We generally view secret societies with suspicion because our Germanic, Celtic, and Nordic ancestors held to an open kinship/clan model up until relatively recently in the evolutionary timeline. Many of the mechanisms of Secret Society control are abhorrent to us (use of terror, stage magic to manipulate the superstitious, forcing initiates into blackmail, using spies and agents to surveil and control community opinion, killing those who reveal secret society secrets, etc. etc.)
Yet, there are various elements of Secret Societies that we can adopt with good conscience and apply in intentional communities to empower us politically and culturally.
I’ll follow this post with a reply containing the full outline, which is currently being made into a powerpoint presentation that will accompany a speech on the topic.
The Secrets of Secret Societies: Solidarity and Success
The problem: How do we achieve Loyalty, Solidarity, Total Commitment to the Cause?
We are attempting to ‘speedrun’ the creation of an autonomous state practically from scratch and surrounded by adversaries–race & ideology alone is not enough
2 pathways to true solidarity stand out to me: KINSHIP & the Secret Society
Kinship: the model of our purest ancestors
Germania, Tacitus: “Not being a crafty or a cunning race they furthermore disclose their secret thoughts in the freedom of the feast, and so the minds of all lie open and discovered. On the morrow the matter is debated again, and the double process justifies itself. They discuss when disguise is impossible, they decide when too sober to blunder.”
Secret Society: the model of our enemies, the success of which cannot be denied.
Unfortunate fact– we are not kin. We cannot delude ourselves into thinking we are kinsmen like our Germanic tribal ancestors. We are of the same race or nationality, but we are not bound by close blood-ties like our forebears.
Why was the Secret Society model so successful, and what can we take from it without compromising our core values?
My background
A close study of modern political and sociological history appears to be driven primarily by secret societies.
The Rosicrucians, Illuminati, Freemasons, Lunar Society, Crypto-Jewry, etc. have been instrumental in establishing almost every modern “democratic republic” State that exists today. Soviet Russia, Communist China, Arab states, African states, etc. even the UN.
Other interpretations of history that are referred to as “structural” or “system” theories are simply too abstract and gloss over or ignore completely the tangible social mechanism of the Secret Society in explaining the great events and overall trajectory of history for the past few hundred years. They have been tremendously successful and this must be acknowledged and taken into account.
Complete historical paradigm, not limited to modernity
Secret societies as a theory of social development can even be extended into medieval and ancient history, as far back as prehistoric times, according to Brian Hayden
Where they occurred they had a great affect on the social development of prehistoric hunter-gatherer tribes
Development of technologies
Development of art
Development of cross-kinship and cross-tribal relations
Small groups were allowed to amass great wealth
Kinship-based hierarchies and proto-state formations also allowed for the development of complexity and advancement of material culture, but what really made Secret Societies adaptive was their ability to cement bonds of loyalty that cut across kinship boundaries.
Many, if not all of the great empires of history were ruled by what essentially amounted to Secret Societies
Egypt
Babylon
Persia
Even those States which we white westerners look back upon more fondly, as ancestral to our present culture, like Classical Greece and Rome, the centrality of secret societies pulling the strings behind the visible government are apparent.
Amphyctionic league of classical Greece
Cult of the Pontifex in Rome, which ultimately became the cult of the Pope in Christendom
Conundrum– I believe most white people of NW European heritage still hold the open and honest values of a kinship-based society at heart. Many of us abhor secrecy, especially in matters of government… and the power of that value continues to this day with our demands for representation and transparency in all of our democratic-republican systems and currently, we are trying to ‘speedrun’ a functioning autonomous state from scratch. So, what can we take from the success of secret societies and apply them to our own project?
Create Oaths and initiations
-. Organize Festivals (public and private) and induced sacred ecstatic experiences
Silently enforce coordination between civic leaders (who would have to be initiated members)
Coordinate city planning (public architectural style, layout, etc.)
Sponsor pilgrimages for civic leaders from one community to another for personal bonding and political coordination
Sponsor cultural and business development with society funds
Disguise the source of power and conformity, creating a more authentic and less ‘cultish’ public appearance. Separate public representative govt from long-term strategic ‘deep state’
I will just say that, in terms of implementing a secret society, be a perfectionist, not a traditionalist.
Traditionalism - The reintroduction of routines that have worked in the past.
Perfectionism - Developing routines through an extensive process of revision, aiming for perfection. Note that revision is a process of adaptation.
Perfect - That one is satisfied with no objections.
Perfected Routine - A routine that is perfectly adapted to the environment; that is perfectly adapted to our needs or standards. (Example of a perfected routine.)
The style of a far right secret society will likely end up being very different from something like Freemasonry or the Skull & Bones. I would argue that our community, our IRL nepotism IS ALREADY a secret society – but the key difference is that it is not formalized; it does not have a name.
I feel that branding / ritual are not adaptive to our situation, because this does not arise organically and it makes us identifiable to bad actors. Almost every formalized society that I’m aware of has been persecuted to one extent or another. Whereas the informal “wink wink” decentralized society has led to institutional success. Sam Hyde, Dimes Square, Moldbug, Musk – that to me is the style of an authentic secret society. Try to find a way to emphasize that style and make it stronger.
I would raise a similar point about leadership: this idea that “the right needs a leader.” Leadership does not make sense in an atomized egalitarian medium like the internet. It is not a perfected routine.
I feel that branding / ritual are not adaptive to our situation, because this does not arise organically and it makes us identifiable to bad actors.
What I’m proposing would have basically zero public internet presence, and the scope of it would be limited exclusively to real life inhabitants of the intentional community village. The purpose of ritual/inducing ecstatic experiences there is literally nothing but inducing bonding between members.
If it doesn’t feel authentic, it’s not being done right. I’m not talking about anything spooky like the Cremation of Care, or even anything overtly identifiable as a ‘ritual’, either.
Here’s an example: I went to a Lutheran high school and I remember in my junior year, students were invited to spend the night at the school on a Saturday night and then the next day there was a big church service everyone attended. It was generally known and expected that kids spending the night at the school would pull an all-nighter, staying up and having fun, and then go to the service the next morning. I remember many kids who attended the service said they could really feel the presence of the “holy spirit” and had serious spiritual experiences… and even then, I remember thinking “of course you did, you stayed up all night and you were loopy from sleep deprivation.”
Basic things like fasting, sleep deprivation, sensory deprivation, trust exercises, communal feasts, theater performances, etc. etc. when done in the right manner have the potential to induce strong spiritual experiences and induce bonding between participants. This can all be done without the average participant even realizing it was planned.
We have to drop liberal values of “tolerance/mercy/acceptance”. We have to be quite great ourselves. Because if we aren’t of a certain quality, nobody will want to be around us, or to help us.
Collective societies IRL work only when their members are awesome. Organizations with bad/loser people don’t do much collectively - think churches. Everybody is awkward, repressed, low-confidence, etc. and for that reason, they can’t really get much momentum.
One thing I’d say, is that when it comes time to form social groups, one must go about it in a similar way to flirting. When you flirt, you never will succeed if you announce your intentions quickly and ask the woman to be your girlfriend. Instead, you succeed by slowly building trust and good emotional connections, and letting that silently grow. You must allow your pursuit to fail at any moment, and have good humor about it. You also must not make any demands, beyond things that are one baby step more than what you already are doing.
In the same way, building a community starts with something very small. And if that small thing works well, after a little while, you do something slightly more. Repeat that…over time.
How can one be satisfied with something small, if one is dying for an ethnostate? It is basically impossible. One must have a mentality and a goal that is abstract. One’s goal must be, simply put: goodwill and brighter futures for other white people.
The community starts with people who just want to help and grow other white people. Maybe an ethnostate emerges, maybe not. If enough success is achieved, an ethnostate would of course be possible.
Ultimately, white people in these spheres are all here because we’ve been hurt by the world somehow. Probably parents. What we need on some psychological level is people who have good intentions for us, people who want to see us heal and grow.
