The downside of a soulmate

When you were one, when you were alone, you were whole. When you chose to become part of a whole, of which another was the other part, you became a part that was whole with the other. When you were separated from them, you were alone again, it wasn’t the same, because you were still a part without being part of the whole. You were alone as you were when you were whole on your own, but now you are not shaped to be whole on your own anymore. That was taken from you by the start of being one with another. And the wholeness you shared was taken from you by their departure.

Still coping about Sabrina K Rana of Davenport Iowa, I see!

I dunno man, I dunno how to mend a broken heart.

I typed this out in a Youtube Short’s comments section because I thought I saw someone feeling the same way as I did

It seems like in every romantic drama, the conceit is that love happens once. No character ever says, “Well, I fell in love once- it could happen again. So all is not lost, I’ll get over it.” Losing love has to be a life-scale tragedy, comparable to death. If you see something happen once, that typically raises the probability of recurrence from 0 rather than drop it down to 0.

“Surely it’s possible that I’ll love someone else like this. Other people have felt love, they’ve even had two loves in their lives.” It just isn’t how love is meant to be. There isn’t supposed to be any out, any hypothetical alternative-love. Every love is supposed to be incomparable.

For the longest time I thought, “I could fall in love with any girl,” but I never let myself because I couldn’t find any reason to cherish them above another. What is love, if it isn’t actually treasuring a person for what they are, prizing them for what only they can feel and become? But if I couldn’t cherish them, then what was I imagining?

Cuddling up to them, making them laugh, all the stuff that is inductively charged by society by leaving it alone. Le Chad doesn’t brag about how his girlfriend lies on his chest or how they have an inside joke. Le Chad brags about having le sexytimes. Sex means you scored a point in the society game, which makes it less intimate. Everything I was dreaming of was more intimate, more vulnerable than sex- and none of it was love.

I think we are missing the words for lesser romance. Everyone can distinguish between lust/love, but really it should be lust vs (term for inferior love) and (term for inferior love, the habits of love) vs (term for love of greater distinction)

Good love feels like falling asleep.

I have exploding head syndrome.

If you’re really in love, the person you’re in love with is not an interchangeable ‘romantic interest’. It’s therefore not a matter of ‘will I fall in love again’ but ‘will I be able to have this again, this person, this love, this individual who my sense of and desire for love has been specified to a desire for’. Commitment is one’s orientation toward love itself being narrowed from “Woman” (or ‘man’ if you’re a woman (unless you’re a dyke) or a fag) to her, (or him, ditto,) to this individual, to Sabrina. Commitment is needed for true love (or, ‘real love’, since ‘true love’ has this waxy, cliched sound to it that’s impossible to respect) because that’s how love should be.

It’s really like art. You can’t destroy a unique piece of art and make another one and say ‘while, one unique piece was destroyed, but another was made, therefore nothing has been lost’. Being unique means that each piece is in its own realm, its own plane. They’re not interchangeable. And people are unique. And romance is the bond between people that affirms and completes the value of each as an individual while at the same time making them both bound as one.

Men would save themsleves a lot of heartache if they did not hold females in super high esteem.

If you start dating a girl, the outcomes are either that you spend the rest of your life with her, or you get dumped.

Which one do you think is more likley?

Dude, just dont hold your first girlfriend in a super high esteem. You are setting yourself up for failure if you get dumped.

Also, talking to men who have been dumped is like talking to a female who has been “assaulted” in the past.

As in, they are so stuck in the past, that they are bitter and misrable. Hard to be friends with.
