The nationalist mind: VOX party in Spain is fighting for Gibraltar

Looks like Spain’s nationalist VOX party, which is frequently cited by white nationalist types as being a “based” party, is trying to convince Spain to retake Gibraltar. The loss of Gibraltar happened in 1713.

I think it’s worth mentioning that this is rather normal for nationalists. They can’t help themselves but to make petty squabbles with neighboring countries that pose absolutely no threat, and typically are friendly. The result is, as we see often in history, war. Terrible war.

The right-wing needs to take a serious look at this, and understand why nationalists always seem to do this. What is the psychology of nationalists? Why are they so moralized by fighting over little things? Why do they always seem to have a victim mindset, such that they need to “settle the score” with a nation that they are in a mutually beneficial peace with?

I feel like it’s a marketing gimmick. Like renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, or pretending to annex Canada. It’s a bad gimmick because it makes you look inauthentic. Retaking Gibraltar doesn’t matter, and it will probably never happen.
