Thought about creating a website for short stories

I noticed that there really aren’t any good sites for reading creepypastas / short fiction. Royal Road is just… bad. Creepypasta.com and the Creepypasta Wiki are outdated.

I was thinking a simple minimalist site that includes free text-to-speech.

It would be similar to this forum except it would be simpler and have ads on it. Also nice typography

Bruh, I was just listening to creepypastas earlier.

I think there should be room for bad fanfic-tier writing and shock value if you do make something like this, because I know I enjoy them but people act irrationally like they’re objectively bad in all circumstances either out of elitism or because they’re hippies, queers and cowards. But in my opinion, shitty stuff is actually quite good when you’re in the right mood, like how Romans used to do laundry with piss. I listened to seven whole parts of the ‘Voicebox’ fanfiction by HoodoHoodlumsRevenge, and it was honestly entertaining.

Also give it a typewriter font. Those are fun.

Why not just include it as a separate feature of this website? I would think that would be less work.
I intend to have the first few chapters of my story done by the end of this year so I’d love to use it, and also review more formal writing projects from others.

Because I wouldn’t be able to run ads on it. Google AdSense checks for racism etc

I think I could make good money running a popular forum.

  1. How the fuck did you get the inspiration to write something like this?
  2. How the fuck did you get the motivation to do through with it?

I guess what I’m asking is, where do you get your ideas?

I can’t really remember, I think it started when I was listening to 4chan spooky stories on Youtube and of course being a furry with a thing for the morbid I found the monsters in the stories vaguely hot but it was always vague and I couldn’t even fantasize clearly

So I decided I would use those vague inclinations and feelings to write a story, and on the spur of the moment the name ‘Marquan’ hit me, so the main character became black

Then years later, I rewrote the story, losing some of the original feeling I had channeled into the story but being a little less cancerous in terms of stiff phrasing and general diction
