Was India united before the Europeans came and ruined it?

So I’ve recently had the misfortune of making an Indian female SJW friend.

She has claimed that India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh were united before white people came and divided them in the age of colonialism.

She also claims that white people created the caste system. She said that in a way that would indicate not one particular caste system, but also the entire idea of castes and caste systems.

I will answer the first claim. I don’t think this is true. I was searching Indian history a bit on Wiki and it really looks like India was not united before colonialism. If anything, colonialism allowed this unity in India that has been such a boon to them.

Probably not. And the caste system is thousands of years old. Was the Caste system influenced by colonialism? Probably, but it would have been influenced by any fashion. Caste means that you think that you’re better than other people and that you strive for status.
